Oaklands was founded in 1860 by Bob Hall, an English millionaire who acquired the property as a gift for his wife. Initially run as a game farm, Oaklands took its name from an Oak forest that was planted nearby to supply duiselbooms - the long poles that hitched oxen to their wagons. The property has since been owned and managed by a string of colourful characters including a clairvoyant who is said to have hosted séances on hotel`s upper floors, and a South African provincial cricket captain. Accommodation at Oaklands Country Manor is stylish yet homely, reflecting the comfortable countryside lifestyle which our stunning location affords. Though each suite and room is unique, common features include subtle African themed furnishings and exquisite views of the Manor gardens, Polo fields, and surrounding mountains. Oaklands can accommodate up to 32 people at any time and guests of the Manor receive complimentary breakfast.

En suite rooms: These are double rooms which come with an en suite bathroom, cosy fireplace and coffee station, as well as an outdoor patio with a table, chairs and umbrella. With the option of a queen sized bed or twin beds, these rooms are well-suited to couples. We have 5 en suite rooms at Oaklands Country Manor, each of which sleeps 2 people. Take in the beautiful country setting and fresh mountain air from a private outdoor patio, or enjoy a cosy night in front of the fire with steaming hot coffee. Each room comes with: An outdoor patio with umbrella, tables and chairs, Fireplace, Coffee station, En suite bathroom, 2 en suite rooms with queen sized beds are available, while the remaining 3 come with twin beds. This option is best suited to couples or people travelling in pairs.

Our family suites accommodate 4 people in a queen sized bed and 2 day beds. The suites are complete with a bathroom, two fireplaces, living room, television, kitchenette, and outdoor entertainment area. Webers are available on request. This is a perfect accommodation option for family vacations or small groups. When not indulging in the range of activities on offer at Oaklands, guests can simply relax and absorb the tranquil countryside atmosphere in the comfort of their own suite.

Hilltop House sleeps 6 people and is ideal for larger groups. Guests are accommodated in a double room with a queen sized bed and en-suite bathroom, and 2 double rooms with twin beds and a shared bathroom. There is an open plan living room with a lounge and kitchenette, as well as an outdoor deck and braai area. Set against a beautiful mountain backdrop and overlooking the lush green valley, Hilltop House is recommended for larger families or groups. The deck and living room make for great entertainment areas where guests can unwind and enjoy each other`s company in a scenic country setting.
